Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked relevant ministries and agencies to quickly implement a Block B gas-to-power project as scheduled.

It is a large-scale gas project in the country, with a capacity of 5.06 billion of cu m a year.

Prime Minister Chinh asked Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha to direct the Ministry of Industry and Trade, PetroVietnam, and relevant agencies to resolutely remove obstacles to make final investment decisions and carry out the project in line with its schedule.

Located in the Mekong Delta, the Block B project has a strategic role in supplying important gas sources for socio-economic development in the region.

Its investors are PetroVietnam, PetroVietnam Exploration & Production, Japan’s Mitsui Oil Exploration, and Thailand’s PTTEP.
