The Steering Committee for Energy Saving at the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) and the Vietnam Journalists’ Association have launched press awards on the economical and efficient use of energy.

The awards are part of activities held within the framework of the Vietnam National Energy Efficient Program (VNEEP) for the 2019-2030 period.

They are aimed at raising awareness in the public about using energy effectively and economically.

Energy security and sustainable development in the energy sector have received major attention from the government. Together with energy transition, the effective and economical use of energy is considered one of the key pillars being implemented by the MoIT to realize Vietnam’s commitment of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.

The awards are in four categories: printed newspapers, online newspapers, radio, and TV. They are open to all professional and amateur reporters and associates at press agencies around the country.

Winning entries must promote Party guidelines and State policies and laws on the economical and efficient use of energy, and honor sectors, organizations, and units with initiatives and solutions on reducing energy consumption and power loss.

They should also provide readers with knowledge on new technologies for energy savings.
