Phạm Vinh -

Cooperatives encouraged to join global supply chains via digital transformation.

Under a Directive from the Prime Minister, signed on June 3 by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, relevant ministries, agencies, and localities have been urged to boost digital transformation in the collective economy and cooperatives.

They are required to mobilize different resources and connect partners in the innovation ecosystem to support the development of the collective economy and cooperatives in digital transformation.

Measures will also be taken to connect and create the conditions needed for cooperatives to join global supply chains via digital transformation, such as attending e-commerce platforms and building websites to introduce their products.

They have been instructed to promote information dissemination to raise awareness among cooperatives of the trends, challenges, and opportunities in digital transformation.

The Directive asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to implement the digitalization of databases and information on agricultural cooperatives and to assist them in applying information technology and digital transformation in production and trade activities.

The Ministry of Science and Technology will guide collective economic organizations and cooperatives with projects on applying and advancing science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation to obtain loans from the national Fund on Technological Innovation and the national Fund on Scientific and Technological Development.
