The Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam (PRO Vietnam) has announced its commitment to collect and recycle approximately 64,000 tons of various packaging materials in 2024 to fulfill its Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations.

PRO Vietnam has developed efficient collection and recycling models for different types of packaging. During the two-year trial period (2022-2023), the organization successfully collected and recycled over 17,000 tons of packaging materials, contributing to waste reduction efforts.

In 2023, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment recognized PRO Vietnam as the first authorized organization for packaging recycling in Vietnam.

Over the next five years, the organization aims to strengthen EPR implementation, establish an efficient collection and recycling model, and conduct environmental awareness campaigns.

By 2030, it targets a 100% collection and recycling rate for all packaging materials brought to market by its member companies.

Founded in 2019, PRO Vietnam's mission is to promote a circular economy and make packaging recycling more accessible and sustainable in Vietnam.

Currently, PRO Vietnam has 30 member companies, including large-scale enterprises in consumer goods, packaging production, retail, import, collection, and recycling sectors.
