Disbursement of public investment capital in the first quarter of 2023 slowed to VND73.2 trillion ($3.12 billion), according to the Ministry of Finance.
The figure is equivalent to 9.69 per cent of the annual plan and 10.35 per cent of the target set by the Prime Minister.
Two ministries and 15 localities posted disbursement of over 15 per cent, including the Mekong Delta’s Tien Giang province (31.1 per cent), nearby Ben Tre province (30.5 per cent), and northern Dien Bien province (24.67 per cent).
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh set up five working groups last month to examine and speed up public investment disbursement this year.
Capital of over VND 700 trillion ($29.85 billion) is to be disbursed in 2023.
