Nearly 163,000 domestic and international tourists visited Quang Binh during Tet (the Lunar New Year holiday), from January 25 to February 2, marking a 10.5% increase compared to the previous Tet.

The majority of these visitors, estimated at nearly 158,000, hailed from within Vietnam, particularly from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and neighboring provinces such as Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, and Da Nang.

International tourists totaled over 4,700, reflecting a remarkable 24.1% increase from the same period in 2024. Most of the international visitors came from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, the United States, Germany, France, China, Canada, Taiwan (China), and South Korea.

To accommodate the influx of tourists, Dong Hoi Airport extended its operating hours to 24 hours and increased flight frequency from 4 to 7-9 round trips per day, representing a 125% increase compared to normal operations.

Additionally, the railway sector added more auxiliary train routes to meet passengers' travel needs.
