Central Quang Nam province licensed 7 FDI projects in the first six months of the year with a total registered capital of $124.24 million, according to the provincial Statistic Office.

The province also attracted 15 domestic projects worth over VND4.24 trillion ($167 million).

The province has 198 valid FDI projects with a total registered capital of $6.2 billion, focusing on processing and manufacturing sector.

During the six-month period, Quang Nam posted a GRDP growth of 2.7% year-on-year.

The province’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rose 5.8% compared to the same period last year. Of which, the processing and manufacturing sector surged 7.8%.

Quang Nam welcomed 4.6 million tourists in the first half of the year, up 18% year-on-year, including 3.1 million foreign visitors. Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND3.87 trillion ($152 million), soaring 11% year-on-year.
