The Appraisal Council at the Ministry of Planning and Investment has approved the master planning for central Quang Ngai province during the 2021-2030 period with a vision towards 2050.

Under the plan, Quang Ngai targets annual average gross regional domestic growth (GRDP) of 7.25-8.25 per cent during the period.

The province has also shaped its development vision and space, as demonstrated by the creation of four strategic economic corridors and five corridors connecting inter-district regions and six dynamic economic areas, according to Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee Dang Van Minh.

This will offer balanced development, links, and mutual support between the coastal, midlands, mountainous, and island areas of the province.

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, who is also Head of the Appraisal Council, said the master planning still lacks breakthrough measures, particularly in economic structure.

He asked local authorities to change their mindset and seek new breakthroughs in order to build a new economic structure and establish new growth drivers.
