Northern Quang Ninh province recorded impressive socio-economic growth in the first quarter of this year, of 8.04 per cent.
Total budget collections reached over VND14.87 trillion ($622 million), a year-on-year increase of 9 per cent. Collections from trade activities were estimated at VND3.6 trillion ($150 million).
During the three-month period, the province’s services sector posted the highest growth, with 13.25 per cent.
The province welcomed 4.85 million tourists in the period, a 2.3-fold increase year-on-year, earning revenue of over VND8.5 trillion ($357 million).
Export turnover hit $674 million, a year-on-year rise of 15.2 per cent.
Quang Ninh attracted FDI totaling nearly $342 million in the quarter, or 41.3 per cent of the annual plan, ranking it seventh in the country in terms of FDI attraction.
