Northern Quang Ninh province targets becoming an international tourism and maritime economic center and a gateway in the northern economic region and the country as a whole by 2030.

Under its planning for the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050, given the go-ahead by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the province will develop Van Don International Airport into a national logistics center and regional entrepot.

It will also build Van Don Economic Zone into an entertainment industrial center and plans to build an additional eight industrial parks and 16 golf courses.

The province also aims to develop sustainably towards the green growth model with climate change adaptation.

Quang Ninh strives to become a modern industrial locality by 2050 and a major urban area at the regional and international level, and a locomotive boosting national economic development with growth drivers including services, tourism, innovation, and competitiveness.
