Northern Quang Ninh province welcomed 3.35 million tourists in the first two months of 2023, double the figure in the same period last year.

Total revenue from tourism activities reached over VND6.5 trillion ($273 million).

The province has set a target of welcoming 15 million tourists this year, including 2 million foreign visitors. Turnover is expected to top VND32.4 trillion ($1.36 billion).

It is building a master plan on sustainable tourism development by 2025 with a vision to 2030. Under the plan, Quang Ninh targets welcoming 15.5 million tourists each year, including 5 million international visitors. The figure will increase to 25.4 million by 2030, with 8.6 million foreign visitors. The tourism sector is expected to contribute 11 per cent to the province’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP).
