Import-export through border gates in central Quang Tri Province continued to post strong growth in the opening months of 2026, reinforcing the province’s position as a major logistics and trade hub along the East–West economic corridor.

According to reports from local authorities, import-export, transit trade, and cross-border passenger movement remained stable throughout 2025 and the first four months of 2026, with several indicators showing strong growth.

During the January–April period, the province's total foreign trade turnover reaching nearly $922 million and cargo volume exceeding 2.8 million tons. Customs authorities also handled entry and exit procedures for nearly 272,000 vehicle trips  and over 540,000 people.

Key international border crossings—including Lao Bao International Border Gate, La Lay International Border Gate, and Cha Lo International Border Gate—continue to serve as critical trade links connecting Laos, Thailand, and other markets in South East Asia.

Meanwhile, rising cargo throughput at the province's Cua Viet and Hon La Ports is providing further momentum for logistics development, port services, and border economic growth in central Vietnam.
