Vietnam’s Power Generation Corporation 2 and Chinese partner China Southern Power Grid have proposed investing in a 500 MW pumped-storage hydropower plant in the central province.
The Cam Lo - La Son Highway connecting central Quang Tri province and Thua Thien-Hue province is preparing for completion, with contractors striving to finish everything by the end of October, meeting the government’s general goal of opening 361 km of the Eastern North-South Expressway, first phase, this year.
The Quang Tri Airport project in central Vietnam sits on area of over 265 ha with total investment of more than VND5.8 trillion ($247.98 million). Its feasibility report is expected to be approved during August, and construction is to begin in the first quarter of 2023. With a capacity of 1 million passengers per year, the airport will be built under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
Central Quang Tri province kicked off construction of the Hai Lang LNG (liquefied natural gas) Warehouse Center on January 15, which will be capable of housing 1.5 million tons of LNG per year in its first phase, and the Hai Lang Power Center, which will have a generation capacity of 1,500 MW in its first phase. The project covers an area of 120 ha and has total investment of over $2.3 billion.
