A record 475 km of new expressways were put into operation around Vietnam during 2023, bringing the total length nationwide to 1,892 km, according to the Ministry of Transport (MoT).

In December alone, three expressways were completed and opened to traffic with a total length of 70 km: the My Thuan 2 Bridge, the My Thuan - Can Tho Expressway section, and the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway section.

MoT previously put 405 km of expressways into operation that are sections of the Eastern North-South Expressway project: Mai Son - National Highway No. 45 (63 km), National Highway No. 45 - Nghi Son (43 km), Nghi Son - Dien Chau (50 km), Nha Trang - Cam Lam (49 km), Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet (101 km), and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay (99 km).
