The Southeast Asia Semiconductor Association (SEMI SEA) has committed to collaborating with Da Nang city in central Vietnam to support the training and development of high-quality human resources in the semiconductor sector – a crucial factor for the sustainable development of the industry in the central city.
Ms. Linda Tan, President of SEMI SEA, made this announcement during a meeting with Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, within the framework of Da Nang Finance and Tech Week 2025, on August 29.
Ms. Linda Tan introduced SEMI SEA as a global organization with an extensive network. She also expressed her desire for Da Nang to become a part of the global semiconductor ecosystem that SEMI SEA is building.
The association also maintains close ties with the National Innovation Center (NIC), creating numerous opportunities for Da Nang to attract investment in the microchip and high-tech product packaging sectors.
Mr. Triet affirmed that microchips and semiconductors are among the key economic drivers that the city has identified and prioritized for the current period.
Da Nang is proactively implementing various domestic and international programs and projects to build infrastructure, develop human resources, and gradually establish a semiconductor ecosystem in the locality.
Currently, Da Nang is progressively building a model that links the microchip industry with the Free Trade Zone, the future International Financial Center, and digital economy sectors to promote comprehensive development.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that Da Nang will cooperate closely with SEMI SEA in human resource training and the development of the microchip and semiconductor ecosystem. He also expressed the city's desire for the Association to introduce and connect them more deeply with the network of businesses and investors in the industry.
