The Vietnam Electricity (EVN) ơn December 12.signed a contract to build a submarine cable connecting Con Dao Island in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province to the national grid.

The contract, signed between EVN and the consortium of PC1 Group Joint Stock Company and Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 4, includes system design, equipment supply and construction of a 110-kV submarine power cable with a total length of 77.7 km.

It is part of a project supplying electricity for Con Dao island district with a total investment capital of over VND4.92 trillion ($193 million).

The project is scheduled to start supplying electricity to Con Dao district in the fourth quarter of 2025. The entire project is expected for completion by 2026.
