The Chairman of John Swire & Sons Limited, Mr. Guy Bradley, confirmed the group’s plan to continue expanding its investment in Vietnam, particularly in the fields of aviation and healthcare, at a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Hanoi on October 24, the Government News has reported.

Mr. Bradley spoke highly of the improvements in Vietnam’s business and investment environment and stressed that he believed in the success of the group’s business activities in the country.

Prime Minister Chinh welcomed the group’s continuous expansion of investment and business activities in Vietnam.

He called on the group to continue expanding its operations in sectors such as aviation, industry and trade, logistics, real estate, healthcare, and Vietnam’s production, distribution, and retail network, while also developing its human resources.

The government leader proposed the group increase the application of the latest scientific and technological advances to its activities; improve the added value and rate of domestically-made components in its products and use supporting technologies from Vietnam; boost assistance for Vietnamese businesses to join its supply chain; effectively use renewable energy; and harmonize economic targets with fulfilling its social responsibility, thereby helping Vietnam achieve green growth and sustainable development targets and effectively cope with climate change.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government supports and protects the rights and legitimate interests of foreign investors.

The Swire Group, headquartered in the UK, has operated in Vietnam since 1988 via activities supporting oil and gas, tea, aviation, and real estate.
