In moving towards the goal of “leaving no one behind” and as part of efforts in financial inclusion, banks are now looking at a range of solutions that include promoting the development of domestic credit cards in rural areas. Agribank has been implementing its “Agribank Digital” program in many localities, which allows customers to conduct transactions without going to a counter.
Agribank and FWD Vietnam have reached an agreement under which the former will distribute the latter’s insurance products within its network. The deal will make use of Agribank’s distribution network - the largest and most extensive in Vietnam - and FWD’s strengths in developing insurance products suitable for a wide range of customers and digital platforms.
Despite starting the process in 2007, Agribank’s equitization remains in the preparation stage, with land issues being the main sticking point. There are still 80 Agribank housing and land facilities that have not been approved by the Ministry of Finance.
