At the regular government press conference on July 4, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong acknowledged the difficulties that faced Vietnam’s economy in the first half of the year, with two major issues being higher prices and labor shortages. He said the Ministry has assessed that inflation is not as serious in Vietnam as in European countries or the US, but the risks and pressures are still visible.

Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong said on June 18 that Vietnam will sign a cooperative agreement with a group of six development banks to unify a list of projects using ODA capital and concessional loans from foreign sponsors with committed capital of $2.2 billion. The goal of the agreement is to open up opportunities for the sustainable development of the Mekong Delta region.
