Believing that stock selection at this time is more important than forecasting market trends, the Viet Dragon Securities Company (VDSC) has suggested that investors focus on buying into industries with positive expected second-quarter business results, such as seafood, gas thermal power, technology, and banking.

Social distancing measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Vietnam are expected to affect the profits of industry groups in the second half and there will be major differences seen between businesses in the same industry. Most industries grew by double digits in the first half of the year, except for consumer services, insurance, and food and beverages. The information technology industry is expected to recover in the 2021-2025 period.
