Efforts to restore international tourist numbers

Vietnam welcomed 71.8 million visitors in the first seven months of 2022, exceeding the annual target. There were only 954,600 international arrivals, however, or just 15 per cent of the targeted 5 million for the year. One solution to increase international tourist numbers is to apply multiple entry and exit visas valid for 30 days, instead of 15 days as currently.

Proposal made for reopening international tourism

Proposal made for reopening international tourism

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has proposed a plan for reopening international tourism in three stages starting from November. By the third stage, in the second quarter of 2022, Vietnam’s tourism sector will have completely reopened to international visitors. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has requested that tourism be reopened quickly but insisted that safety be ensured.
