Four outbreaks of Covid-19 have plunged Vietnam’s retail sector into an unprecedented crisis, with more than 33,000 businesses withdrawing from the market. This is also considered an opportunity for large enterprises to make a breakthrough, however, with strong growth forecast in 2022.

While farmers and small-scale agricultural production farms face a host of difficulties due to supply chain disruptions, many agricultural enterprises, especially those of large-scale, have increased production and posted handsome profits. Agriculture was one of the few sectors to record a trade surplus in the first seven months of this year, of $3.9 billion.
