Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) is implementing a number of power transmission projects to import electricity into Vietnam. Some are facing problems with procedures for land use conversion and site clearance, however, which can lead to slow progress. EVN General Director Tran Dinh Nhan has urged construction contractors to work decisively to complete projects on schedule.
HCMC’s public investment disbursement slow
As of the end of July, Ho Chi Minh City had disbursed only VND8 trillion ($343.68 million) of public investment capital, or 26 per cent of the plan. Many projects have disbursed only 4-5 per cent of the capital allocated, and 100 projects have not disbursed any capital at all, including a project in the trillions of VND. The greatest bottleneck is site clearance and compensation appraisals.
