According to Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, the agricultural industry needs to change its way of doing business, and instead have a production plan based on demand and meeting market standards. It is also necessary to improve the capacity of Vietnamese enterprises, so they can participate in global production supply chains.

While farmers and small-scale agricultural production farms face a host of difficulties due to supply chain disruptions, many agricultural enterprises, especially those of large-scale, have increased production and posted handsome profits. Agriculture was one of the few sectors to record a trade surplus in the first seven months of this year, of $3.9 billion.
