According to the State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC), the fluctuations on Vietnam’s stock market stem from many causes, both domestic and international. Deposit interest rates at banks have increased to attract cash flow back to the banking system and reduced the appeal of securities in the short term. Stock market investors do gain in importance during periods of economic and political instability.
