Topic: Vietnam to develop nuclear power

Vietnam had been researching the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project since 2009 but suspended it due to various challenges.

At the National Assembly (NA)’s third session, detailing the legislature’s supervision over the implementation of policies and laws on planning activities since the Law on Planning took effect, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized that Vietnam needs to implement its commitments at COP26 and that nuclear power development is an inexorable trend that it should pursue, as other countries in the world have done.
