Vietnam’s growth this year continues to be affected by global uncertainties, according to ADB experts.

Industry is a strategic sector, with Vietnam striving to become a global hub for semiconductor and electronics technology.

In its latest report, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) lowered its Asia growth forecast to 4.6 per cent but kept its forecast for Vietnam’s economic growth at 6.5 per cent in 2022 and 6.7 per cent in 2023. Its forecast for Vietnam’s inflation rate is also unchanged from April, at 3.8 per cent in 2022 and 4 per cent in 2023.

VinaCapital has lowered its 2022 GDP growth forecast for Vietnam to 6.5 per cent due to obstacles in Vietnam’s economy from high energy prices and the slow reopening of all foreign tourism.
