Terminal 2 at Phu Bai International Airport in central Thua Thien-Hue province was officially put into operation on April 28 after three years of construction.
Construction of the terminal began in December 2019, at a total cost of nearly VND2.3 trillion ($97 million).
Boasting unique architecture and a modern and specific style representing Hue culture, the terminal was invested in by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam.
It has a designed capacity of hosting 5 million passengers a year.
Director of Phu Bai International Airport Nguyen Duc Tien said the terminal will help facilitate more domestic and international routes, contributing to boosting the province’s socio-economic development.
