The People’s Committee of central Thanh Hoa province has approved the adjustment of the planning of Diem Pho coastal urban area in Hau Loc district by 2045. 

The urban area covers 2,530 ha in four communes of Ngu Loc, Da Loc, Hung Loc and Minh Loc. Its total population is estimated at over 52,500 which is forecast to increase to 60,000 by 2030 and 70,000 by 2045.

It will be developed into a social, cultural and economic urban area with a focus on developing of sea-based economy, industry, handicraft industry, tourism and services.

Under the adjusted planning, commercial and services centers will be developed along key traffic axes to promote trade exchanges.

Priority will be given to the development of sea-based economy with the application of high technology to promote green growth and protect the marine ecosystems.
