The People’s Council of central Thanh Hoa province has given the green light to the construction planning of the Western Industrial Park (IP) which is located to the west of Thanh Hoa city - the capital of the province.

The IP will cover over 645 ha in Dong Son and Trieu Son districts.

It will be developed into a multi-sector IP with priorities given to high technology and environmental-friendly industries, electronics, telecommunications, manufacturing, automobile industry, construction materials, medical equipment, production of consumption products and auxiliary industry.

Under the planning, some 447.94 ha or 69.43% of the land area will be used to build factories and plants, 8.12 ha or 1.26%  will be used for technical infrastructure works, 10.49% will be allocated for transport infrastructure and 10.14% will be developed into green space.

The IP is expected to generate jobs for 30,000-40,000 people.
