Thanh Hoa boosts investment in IP infrastructure

Nguyễn Thuấn -

Occupancy rates at north-central province’s IPs remain low.

North-central Thanh Hoa province has focused investment on building and upgrading infrastructure for industrial parks (IPs) to attract more investors.

The province approved planning for infrastructure construction at two IPs at the Nghi Son Economic Zone last year on a total area of over 1,000 ha.

It also approved investment from the WHA Thanh Hoa to build a facility covering 178.51 ha in Hoang Hoa district.

Provincial authorities have taken measures to speed up implementation of projects that have already selected investors. These include construction of the IP No. 1 at the Nghi Son Economic Zone with total investment of VND433 billion ($18.04 million), and the construction of the 247-ha IP No. 3 at Nghi Son, with investment of over VND1.1 trillion ($45.8 million).

The occupancy rate at industrial parks in the province remained low in 2023. Occupancy at IPs in the Nghi Son Economic Zone stood at 33.1 per cent, at the Bim Son IP 66.1 per cent, and at the Thanh Quang IP 6.1 per cent.
