North-central Thanh Hoa province has set a target of all road and waterway vehicles running on electricity or other forms of green energy by 2050.

This is part of the action plan on green energy transition and reductions of carbon dioxide and methane emissions issued by the provincial People’s Committee.

The plan aims to develop green transport towards reaching Vietnam’s goal of zero emissions by 2050.

To fulfill its target, the province will promote information distribution to raise public awareness about the benefits of a green transition and the implementation roadmap.

Measures will be taken to boost the study and application of green technology, develop the production of vehicles running on electricity and green energy, and prioritize investment in developing infrastructure to provide green energy for vehicles.
