Australian enterprises are interested in various fields in Vietnam, such as agriculture, healthcare, maternal and baby care, and preschool education, Lord Mayor of Melbourne Sally Capp and Victoria’s Commissioner to Southeast Asia Rebecca Hall told a Vietnam-Australia economic cooperation forum in Melbourne on December 2.

The forum was held as part of National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue’s visit to Australia.

Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Quoc Khanh both called for increased Australian investment in Vietnam in workforce training, digital transformation, and hi-tech agriculture.

Mr. Khanh said the Vietnamese Government is offering incentives in agriculture, education, and logistics, especially amid Industry 4.0.

NA Chairman Hue said he hopes that more Australian enterprises will come to Vietnam to seek opportunities. The two governments and legislatures, he added, will create favorable frameworks, policies, and mechanisms to support businesses.
