Minister of Transport Tran Hong Minh has requested relevant agencies, investors and contractors to speed up construction of rest stops along the Eastern North-South Expressway.
The minister asked for measures to remove difficulties and obstacles facing the project, particularly in site clearance.
Construction of new rest stops must be completed before January 20, 2025, according to the minister.
Eight rest stops are being built under contracts for sub-projects of the North-South Expressway, including Mai Son – National Highway 45, Nghi Son – Dien Chau, Dien Chau – Bai Vot, Nha Trang – Cam Lam, Cam Lam – Vinh Hao, Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet – Dau Giay.
According to initial surveys, the Eastern North-South Expressway, running from northern Lang Son province to the Mekong Delta’s Ca Mau province, will have 37 rest stops.
The Eastern North-South Expressway project is 2,063 km in length.
