Transport ministry cracks down on passenger transport violations

Anh Tú -

Passenger transport estimated at 3.4 billion people in the first nine months of 2023.

The Ministry of Transport (MoT) will strengthen inspections over the operations of transport services providers and crack down on any violations, particularly unauthorized passenger coaches, over the remaining months of the year.

This is part of key tasks for the transport sector to year’s-end, which include the implementation of measures to simplify administrative procedures and promote international transport services by air, road, and railway to tackle difficulties facing businesses and boost production and trade.

Speaking at a conference on implementing the MoT’s task over the remainder of the year, held in Hanoi on October 11, Director of its Department of Transport, Tran Bao Ngoc, said transport activities saw positive results in the first three quarters of the year.

Transport activities posted year-on-year increases of 13.1 per cent in passenger transport and 14.6 per cent in cargo transport.

Passenger transport was estimated at 3.4 billion people while cargo transport stood at 1.68 billion tons.
