Transport ministry raises ceiling on prices for domestic flight tickets

The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has decided to increase the ceiling prices on airfares for domestic flights over 500 km by 2.27-6.67 per cent from March, 2024.

Under a new circular from the ministry, the ceiling price on airfares for flights between 500 and 850 km will rise VND50,000 ($2.08) to VND2.25 million ($93) per one-way ticket.

For flights between 850 and 1,000 km, the maximum price will increase by VND100,000 ($4.16) to VND2.89 million ($120).

The ceiling price on flights between 1,000 km and 1,280 km and over 1,280 km will increase to VND3.4 million ($142 million) and VND4 million ($166 million), respectively.

The MoT said the adjustments are made based on an assessment of costs, market situation, and other related factors.
