The Ministry of Transport has asked contractors working on the Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway to speed up construction to complete 35 per cent of the value of construction contracts committed to for 2023.
Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Duy Lam examined the construction site last month and found that progress is too slow.
The ministry asked the My Thuan Project Management Board to coordinate with local authorities to improve site clearance, to ensure the handover of all land needed for the project this month.
Contractors were requested to mobilize equipment and financial resources to boost the construction process.
The project has total investment of VND41.9 trillion ($1.76 billion) and will stretch 124.8 km through six cities and provinces. Construction will be completed in two phases, between now and 2025.
