Minister of Transport Tran Hong Minh has asked relevant departments and agencies under his ministry to accelerate disbursement of public investment capital to fulfill the target of disbursing at least 95% of the annual plan assigned by the Prime Minister.

By the end of November, the ministry has disbursed nearly VND53 trillion (more than $2.08 billion), equivalent to 70% of the annual plan.

Chairing a recent monthly meeting of the ministry, Minister Minh also required investors and project management boards to focus on removing obstacles to complete 3,000 km of expressways following direction of the Prime Minister.

He also asked for measures to speed up construction of some key projects, including Can Tho – Ca Mau and Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot expressways, and Long Thanh International Airport in southern Dong Nai province.

He called for efforts to start construction of the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway in 2025.
