The UK–Vietnam Business Forum 2026 themed is scheduled to take place in October 29, the British Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (BritCham Vietnam) announced at a press conference on October 1, according to a report by the online newspaper of Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV).
Co-hosted by BritCham Vietnam and the British Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, the event expects to convene prominent business executives, leading economists, and senior government officials from both nations to exchange practical insights and foster benchmark bilateral partnerships.
This year’s forum centers on Vision 2045: Building a High-Value, High-Income Economy—a pivotal theme as Vietnam enters a defining transition phase toward achieving developed, high-income country status by 2045 and reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Throughout the sessions, key speakers will present a comprehensive roadmap for sustainable growth and examine the primary economic drivers required to lift Vietnam into high-income standing by 2045.
Delegates will also deliberate on key panel topics, including: The Potential of British Enterprises in Realizing Resolution 10; Developing Vietnam’s Capital Markets: Opportunities and Challenges; and Shaping Urban Growth Engines: Ho Chi Minh City's 2045 Trajectory.
Speaking at the press briefing, Mr. James Snee, representing investment manager Dragon Capital, emphasized that transparent regulations and open market access serve as the bedrock for attracting additional foreign portfolio inflows.
Foreign investors recently celebrated Vietnam’s classification upgrade to secondary emerging stock market status by FTSE Russell, a subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). Overseas institutional investors continue to seek equal, non-discriminatory market access on par with domestic participants.
Mr. Snee noted that conversations with international asset allocators deploying fresh capital—many of whom benchmark against FTSE’s emerging market indices—reveal substantial satisfaction with the regulatory and structural reforms Vietnam has implemented recently.
Bilateral economic and commercial ties between Vietnam and the United Kingdom have expanded rapidly, with two-way trade across the trailing 12-month period surpassing £10 billion (around $13.2 billion) by the end of March 2026, marking an 8.8% increase year-on-year.
