US chip software firm Synopsys will help Vietnam advance its semiconductor development and establish a semiconductor research institute under MoUs signed with Vietnamese agencies.
The MoUs, were between Synopsys and the Vietnam National Innovation Center and the Authority of ICT Industry of Vietnam (AICTI) at the Ministry of Information and Communications, signed in California on September 17 on the occasion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s working visit to the US.
Synopsys joined Vietnam’s semiconductor market in 2020. Synopsys Vietnam has opened four offices in Ho Chi Minh City and central Da Nang city, attracting nearly 500 engineers.
In 2022, it signed an MoU with the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-tech Industrial Park to support chip design human resources training in Vietnam.
