The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on August 19 announced the establishment of its National Innovation Startup Council.
The establishment of the council aims to strengthen VCCI’s role in representing and supporting the business community and to help implement the goals set out in Resolution 68-NQ/TW, which targets two million active enterprises by 2030, equivalent to 20 enterprises per 1,000 people, and at least 20 major corporations participating in global value chains.
Under the new decision of the VCCI, the council will focus on bringing together, connecting and supporting the innovation startup community; promoting the innovation ecosystem; expanding domestic and international cooperation; and contributing to policy consultation and review.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang praised VCCI’s initiative in establishing a mechanism to connect and support entrepreneurs and innovation-driven startups.
He urged the council to become an effective channel for collecting and reflecting the views of the innovation startup community, while leveraging VCCI’s role in building a business-led innovation network.
