Vietnam imported 14,941 vehicles of different kinds in May, with total value reaching $311 million, up 29.2% in volume and 21.7% in value, as compared to April.
Cumulatively total 58,716 vehicles were imported in the first five months of this year, with value standing at $1.24 billion, down 5.2% in volume and 11.9% in value over the same period of 2023.
Regarding import markets during the five-month period, Indonesia took the lead with 26,233 vehicles exported to Vietnam, earning $380 million. Thailand ranked second in terms of volume, with 18,495 units, but 3rd, after China, in terms of value ($357 million).
China ranked 3rd in terms of vehicle numbers exporting to Vietnam, with 11.869 units in the first five months of this year. However, it surpassed Thailand, ranking second in terms of value, with a total of $373 million.
