The VietLeap AI Accelerator, Vietnam's AI Startup Acceleration Program, was officially launched on October 2 as part of the forum "Promoting Innovation and Developing Strategic Technology Industries" at the Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2025 (VIIE 2025).
The program was initiated by the National Innovation Center (NIC) in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and the Embassy of Japan.
It is one of several important initiatives that JICA is implementing to support Vietnam's AI development, thereby contributing to building a strong and sustainable innovation ecosystem.
In the context of AI's strong development, which not only enhances national competitiveness but also opens up countless innovation opportunities in all fields, from manufacturing and services to social management, the VietLeap AI Accelerator is designed as a specialized and pioneering acceleration program exclusively for the AI sector in Vietnam.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador of Japan to Vietnam, H.E. Ito Naoki, emphasized the importance of international cooperation in promoting strategic technologies.
The announcement ceremony not only marked the beginning of an ambitious annual program but also affirmed Japan's strong commitment to accompanying Vietnam on its path to becoming a regional hub for artificial intelligence, said the Japanese Ambassador.
The VietLeap AI Accelerator is built with the goal of providing comprehensive support for early-stage AI startups, helping them overcome initial challenges to develop products, enhance business capabilities, and prepare for international funding rounds.
The program is expected to select 10 to 15 high-growth potential AI startups with clear funding needs. Selected startups will receive a special support package, including four main pillars: networking and growth opportunities; infrastructure and technology support; capacity building and in-depth mentorship; and funding readiness preparation.
