Vietnam Airlines and Lao Airlines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost co-operation, marking the beginning of a deeper strategic partnership between the two national carriers.

The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the Vietnam-Laos Investment Conference held in Vientiane on January 9.

Under the agreement, Vietnam Airlines will support Lao Airlines by providing technical services for its Airbus A320/321 fleet at Wattay International Airport (Vientiane) and Luang Prabang airport, once Lao Airlines meets the required service certification standards.

The two airlines also agreed to promote cooperation in cargo transport at Wattay Airport once Lao Airlines completes the establishment of a cargo services company; and in training and knowledge exchange.
