National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has been named among the top five airlines with the highest on-time performance (OTP) in Asia-Pacific in April, according to a report from the London-based aviation analytics company Cirium.
An airline’s on-time performance is calculated by whether the plane arrives at the gate within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time and if it departs within 15 minutes of the scheduled departure time.
Vietnam Airlines secured the fifth spot with an OTP of 81.85%, a near-three-point increase over March (78.98%).
Other airlines in the regional top five were Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Peach Aviation, and Air Asia. Japan Airlines claimed the top position in the region with an OTP of 88.17%
Last year, Vietnam Airlines was also listed among the ten most punctual carriers in the region by Cirium.
