National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will increase service between Hanoi and Dong Hoi city in central Quang Binh province from 7 to 14 flights per week to meet travel demand and stimulate tourism, according to the provincial People’s Committee.
The increased flights will be offered during the peak time of this summer, from June 17 to September 4.
Under the plan, two return flights will be conducted daily to connect the capital city with Dong Hoi.
Dong Hoi airport can serve some 2,000 passengers per day, including approximately 400 travellers between Hanoi and Dong Hoi.
Vietnam Airlines will also consider to increase the flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Hoi, depending on the real demand.
In the first six months of the year, Quang Binh welcomed 2.4 million tourists, a year-on-year surge of 23.68%.
