National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has said it will resume nine out of ten air routes to China by the end of April.
The Hanoi - Beijing route will resume in March with a frequency of three return flights a week.
Flights connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Guangzhou and Shanghai will be increased to four weekly return flights.
From April, the carrier will re-open four air routes, from Da Nang to Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Chengdu, and from Hanoi to Chengdu, with two return flights a week on each route.
From September, the airline plans to operate wide-body Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 aircraft on routes between Hanoi and Beijing and between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai.
