The Authority of Information Security (AIS) under the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and the US Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cybersecurity collaboration ơn November 14.
Acting Director General of AIS Tran Quang Hung highlighted the significance of the partnership in bolstering Vietnam's cybersecurity capabilities.
"This MoU underscores Vietnam's commitment to safeguarding critical digital infrastructure and ensuring a secure cyberspace amidst increasingly sophisticated and unpredictable cyber threats," Mr. Hung stated.
He emphasized that collaboration with an experienced organization like CISA strengthens Vietnam's ability to protect national interests, contributing to a safer and more prosperous future globally.
Mr. Trent Frazier, Deputy Assistant Director of the Stakeholder Engagement Division at CISA, echoed the importance of collaboration.
Collaboration and partnership are paramount to effectively protecting critical infrastructure and enhancing cybersecurity capabilities, Mr. Frazier said. He highlighted that the MoU will strengthen the existing partnership between the U.S. and Vietnam, aiding the US in advancing innovation, securing digital infrastructure, and effectively countering evolving cyber threats.
The two agencies committed to working collaboratively to achieve the objectives outlined in the MoU. They expressed optimism that this partnership will become increasingly sustainable and robust, fostering a more secure digital environment for both nations.
