The Vietnam Connect 2023 forum, with the theme “New Breakthroughs for Central Vietnam, driving twin green and digital transition in sustainable economic growth strategies” and co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vneconomy / Vietnam Economic Times, and the Da Nang City People’s Committee, opened in Da Nang on March 17.
In attendance was Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and other senior officials, including leaders from the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and 19 centrally-run localities from the north-central, central coastal, and central highlands regions.
Representatives from the World Bank, more than 20 foreign embassies and consulates, dozens of foreign and local business associations, and over 300 foreign and domestic enterprises are also in attendance.
Vietnam Connect 2023, the third such annual forum, will focus discussions on topics relating to twin green and digital transition, including models and solutions being applied worldwide. It will also evaluate Vietnam’s potential in sustainable economic growth, based on actualities in central Vietnam, including the central highlands region, which possesses great potential and advantages in developing a maritime economy, a green maritime economy, renewable energy, tourism, and agriculture - forestry production.
It comprises two discussion panels on topics regarding economic development, environmentally-friendly economies, and digital transformation.
Speakers include Associate Professor Nguyen Hong Son, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, Ms. Stefanie Stallmeister, Operations Manager for the World Bank in Vietnam, and Mr. Bruce Delteil, Managing Partner of McKinsey’s Vietnam office, among others.
Following the forum, a ceremony for the Golden Dragon Awards 2023 will be held, honoring the top 50 outstanding foreign-invested enterprises in Vietnam in 2022-2023.
