Vietnam is willing to create favorable conditions for Bulgarian businesses to export products to the country, National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has said.

He made the statement during talks with visiting Speaker of the Bulgarian NA Rosen Dimitrov Jeliazkov in Hanoi on January 8.

Chairman Hue spoke highly of the Bulgarian NA’s ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EUVIPA).

He proposed that Bulgaria encourage other EU countries to soon approve the EUVIPA to create a legal corridor for EU businesses, including those from Bulgaria, to promote investment cooperation with Vietnamese businesses.

During the talks, the two sides agreed that they will hold a meeting of the Inter-governmental Committee for economic, trade and scientific cooperation this year so as to open up new cooperative areas and facilitate the entry of goods into the other’s markets under the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EUVFTA).

Cooperation between the two countries has been growing in all fields, including politics and diplomacy, economy, trade, and investment, science and technology, education and training, defense and security, culture, and tourism.

Two-way trade turnover reached $200 million in 2023.
